Life Lately

January 30, 2020

Holy Moly – it has been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post (December 9th to be exact!). In case you’re wondering where I’ve been – I am still (barely) alive! December went by in a blur, and 2020 is following suit so far. I can’t believe it’s already the end of January! I hope 2020 has been off to a good start for all of you because it’s been a real doozy over here! Ever since I started this blog, I have worked on creating content “on the side,” which usually means at night and on the weekends. It has definitely been a balancing act, and I have been burning the candle at both ends for quite a while. Sadly, as of late, my day job in Corporate America has been monopolizing all of my time. I work in the financial services industry, and while my job has always been very demanding and stressful, it is on another level right now. We are currently in the middle of a huge merger, so I not only have my “normal” job, but now all the additional responsibilities that come along with trying to bring two very large companies together while also keeping the business running as usual. It’s just A LOT (and shout out to my amazing co-workers that are right in the same boat with me!). By the time I am done with work for the day, I am mentally exhausted and therefore lacking creativity and energy to focus on my blog and Instagram. I know you don’t want to hear from a “Debbie Downer” every day, so I try to avoid sharing about all of this boring stuff; However, this is real life for me right now, so I just wanted you to know why I’ve been slacking on the blog front. I am sure you understand, and you can probably also relate!

Anyway, just bear with me during this crazy period…I hope to get back to sharing more of the things that y’all are used to seeing soon! I also plan to post a recap of my trip to Europe within the next week or so. I started working on it during the holiday break, but encountered some technical difficulties with my blog that I had to get figured out. For now, I thought I would share some snapshots of me and my family during the holidays! Sharing “life” photos like this is a first for the blog, so I hope you enjoy them!

On the way to a friends’ house for a little Christmas get together! This sweater was SUPER popular when I first shared it….it’s still available and on major sale! Runs true to size (I went with XS).
Sweet Oliver is still living the life and is officially king of the house. Not sure that I have ever shared him here on the blog, but he is quite the popular kitty over on my Instagram – everyone loves him! He is so sweet and snuggly, and makes lots of appearances in my stories! I want to be him in my next life!
These are my sweet parents! We snapped this photo when they came over for Christmas Eve. My dad had a very rough year last year, so I am super thankful for every holiday that I get to spend with them.

My better half, Richard, and me on Christmas Day!
Family Selfie on Christmas Day! These are my two stepdaughters, Carter & Kelsey.

Another selfie that we snapped on New Year’s Eve. We went out for dinner and were back home and in PJs by like 7:30pm. The perfect NYE if you ask me!
Couldn’t resist this shot of Oliver sprawled out on the kitchen floor – he was looking like I felt after all the holiday madness was finally over!
I fell off the cliff with the Faster Way to Fat Loss during November & December. I was incredibly inconsistent, indulged in wayyyy too many bad foods, and did not work out nearly as much as usual. It was the worst two months I have had in two years on the program. I definitely beat myself up a bit, but I have been back on track so far in 2020. So thankful for a lifestyle that gives me grace when I do get off track – it is empowering to know that I have the tools and knowledge to understand exactly what I need to do to get back into the groove and it DOESN’T require some crazy deprivation diet or other unsustainable solution. Prep week for the next round of the Faster Way to Fat Loss starts on Monday! You can read more and/or sign up by clicking here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate you all so much for supporting me and following along with my craziness. Have a great day!
