Protecting Your Skin with Cabana Life
Last year I noticed a spot on my shoulder that would not heal. I went to the dermatologist and proceeded to go through the process of having it tested to determine what we were dealing with. Luckily it was basal cell skin cancer (the most common and least dangerous kind) and not melanoma, but going through the process was very scary and eye-opening. I have spent more than my fair share baking in the sun and going to tanning beds, and oh how I regret it now! While having a tan is nice, it is so important to protect your skin regardless of the season, which is why I am excited to introduce you to a new-to-me brand, Cabana Life. The founders of Cabana Life are Melissa and Alyssa, and after Melissa battled a malignant melanoma at the age of 26, they teamed up to make it their mission to create sun protecting clothing that makes you feel AND look your very best. Would you believe the adorable dresses I am wearing here feature UV 50+ protection!? Cabana Life carries everything from swimsuits, rash guards, and coverups, to everyday clothing pieces that can be worn year-round as well! Just because the seasons change doesn’t mean your need for sun protection does. Their dresses are perfect for work, tailgating, and all your other favorite fall activities!
Be sure to check out Cabana Life’s website to see for yourself all the adorable and unique clothing they offer. AND, as a special treat, you can save 20% off your purchase by using code “POPOFPIPPI20” at checkout! (The dresses I am wearing below are linked – click on the image or use the scrolling bar to shop the items I am wearing!)
You know how much I love blue, so this dress immediately spoke to me! I love the unique pattern, and I think it is a flattering style for everyone! Also, the background and trim of this dress is actually black! It picks up as navy in these photos, so just wanted to point that out :).
I decided to style this dress with sneakers for a more casual look! I envision this outfit being perfect for wearing to a golf tournament or other outdoor sporting event (hello tailgate!), but you could easily change out the shoes for heels to make it work for the office, church, and beyond! This style also comes in a really cute red colorway.
A huge thank you to Cabana Life for sponsoring this post and gifting me with the dresses shown here. I am honored to help them raise awareness of the importance of skin cancer prevention, and I hope you love their pieces as much as I do!
Also, a big thank you to Jennifer from Jennifer Wilson Photography for the fabulous photos! If you are local and in need of a photographer (like for Christmas cards!), be sure to check her out! She is on Instagram @JenniferWilsonPhotography .
