Field of Dreams
Hello friends! I want to first start off by saying that if you are reading this, THANK YOU for visiting my brand new blog, Pop of Pippi! I am so very excited (and nervous!) to start this new adventure, and I am flattered and humbled to have you here.
I have been a reader of blogs for years, always using them as a source of inspiration for all categories of life – fashion, beauty, home decor, food, fitness, etc. I have also had a love for fashion and style that goes back farther than I can even remember. My friends and family have always told me that I should pursue my passion for style, and I have often thought about starting a blog; However, I have always had self-limiting beliefs that up until now, have successfully convinced me that I should just stick to what I know, and stay in my “safe place” where I have a routine, stability and little risk. That self-doubt and fear of the unknown is what continuously keeps a lot of us from pursuing our dreams, am I right?
What I have come to realize in my 30-something odd years of life is that nothing is truly safe or guaranteed in this world. We are not promised tomorrow, so why spend day after day devoting our precious time and energy towards something that we are not passionate about? Don’t get me wrong, we all have to pay the bills and therefore need those stable jobs to do so, but I for one do not want to look back on my life and feel that all I did was “live to work” – I want to reverse that and “work to live”! The cherry on top is spending that time doing something I love! So while I will continue to wake up every day and work as hard as I can to be successful at my day job in Corporate America, I will also start to redirect some of my energy and focus to help inspire others through Pop of Pippi.
I met a sweet friend in Raleigh recently to go see the beautiful Sunflower Fields at Dorothea Dix Park. They were stunning to see in person, and I thought they would be the perfect backdrop for my first blog post. While it made for beautiful photos, all I could think about was the symbolism behind how that field was once empty and bare, and now held all those beautiful flowers that thousands of people are flocking to see. This blog is kind of like that for me…my very own “field of dreams”. I hope to build something that will speak to you and inspire you in all areas of life, whether it is how to put together the perfect outfit for an upcoming event, giving ideas on how to decorate a room in your home, or providing the motivation you need to make changes to improve your health and fitness. I am so excited to see where this leads, and I hope you enjoy following along. Thank you again for being here – it means the world to me!
Have a beautiful day!
