A Shoutout to My Valentine

February 14, 2019

Did y’all know that my husband, Richard, takes almost all of my photos? I may be partial, but I think he does a wonderful job. When I first decided to venture into the blogging world, I don’t think either of us realized the commitment it would require from a content creation and photography standpoint. He has jumped right in by learning how to work a grown-up camera, and is sometimes thinking about potential locations for photo shoots more than me! While we do tend to spend quite a bit of our spare time over the weekends working on content for the blog and Instagram, it has actually become a great way to spend time together and have fun creating something! Don’t get me wrong, we get on each other’s nerves and sometimes there is bickering involved (mostly me, lol), but he sees that I am pursuing something I am passionate about and that it makes me happy, so he does everything he can to support it.

I see lots of #instahusband references on social media, and it sometimes comes across with a negative connotation. There is no need for a man to be embarrassed to be labeled an Insta Husband/Boyfriend, and society should not paint it in such a bad light. There is nothing better that a man could do for his wife/girlfriend than support them and be their biggest cheerleader. All of us that are in the blogger world and influencer marketing space are literally paving a new road that never existed just a few years ago. There is so much opportunity ahead for us as women, and having a man who is willing to stand behind you and help you achieve your goals is the best feeling in the world. Richard, you da bomb, baby! XOXO!

I chose to share this outfit as a part of this blog post because you wouldn’t believe the trouble we went through to shoot this dress! I had a vision for where I wanted to take pictures in this outfit, and let’s just say that my vision was a flop. These photos would not have existed if not for Richard because I was over it and ready to call it a day! He drove us to three different spots downtown, never giving up on trying to get the photos just right. He’s the real MVP.

Let’s move on to the outfit details. This dress combines my love of winter white with one of this winter’s hottest trends – the sweater dress. This dress is so perfect for any occasion where you need to get a little dressed up but want to stay warm, and honestly, I would even wear this dress to work. For this look, I paired it with these super fun blush colored booties, but for work I might wear it with neutral pumps.

You can shop this entire outfit below, and I’ve also linked several other sweater dresses that I am loving right now.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day! Thanks for stopping by!
